🔹 Origin & Establishment

🌙 Khisar Khan, founder of the Sayyid Dynasty, claimed descent from Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.).

🏛️ Due to this lineage, the dynasty was known as the Sayyids Dynasty.

🤝 Khizar Khan collaborated with Timur during his invasion of India (1398).

🎖️ As a reward, Timur appointed Khizar Khan as the governor of Lahore, Multan, and Dipalpur.
🔹 Rise to Power

👑 After the death of Mahmud Shah Tughlaq in 1412, a power struggle emerged.

⚔️ Daulat Khan Lodhi and Khizar Khan both attempted to capture the throne.

🏆 In 1414, Khizar Khan defeated his rivals and established Sayyid rule in Delhi.
🔹 Nature of Khizar Khan’s Rule (1414–1421)

🏰 Ruled not as an independent sovereign, but in the name of Timur, and later his successor Shah Rukh.

⚔️ Tried to restore the Tughlaq Sultanate territories, which had broken into independent states after repeated wars and Timur’s invasion.

❌ Failed to reintegrate these provinces due to weak central authority.

🕌 Despite being Sultan of Delhi, his effective control was limited to:

⚱️ Khizar Khan died a natural death on May 20, 1421.
🔹 Mubarak Shah (1421–1434)

👑 Succeeded his father Khizar Khan.

🛡️ Took the title “Sultan-i-Hind” (Sultan of India).

⚔️ Faced continuous rebellions and external threats.

🏙️ Built the town of Mubarakabad (near Delhi).

💀 Assassinated on February 19, 1434 by conspirators led by Sarwar-ul-Mulk.
🔹 Muhammad Shah (1434–1445)

⚔️ His reign marked by constant wars, internal disorder, and revolts.

📉 Territory further reduced due to weak control.

🏰 Ruled mainly in Delhi and small nearby regions.
🔹 Alauddin Alam Shah (1445–1451)

👑 Last ruler of the Sayyid Dynasty; son of Muhammad Shah.

😔 Weak, pleasure-loving, and uninterested in administration.

🏚️ Could not control rebellions or expand the empire.

📍 Limited rule only over Delhi to Palam.

🏳️ In 1451, he abdicated voluntarily and retired to Badaun.

🛡️ Bahlol Lodhi, the governor of Punjab, seized Delhi in 1451.

🔚 This marked the end of the Sayyids Dynasty and the beginning of the Lodhi Dynasty.
