π Current Statistics of Pakistanβs Manufacturing Sector
π Growth in Manufacturing
Pakistanβs manufacturing sector has continued to grow strongly. It recorded a growth rate of 6.24%, mainly because of the excellent performance of the Large-Scale Manufacturing (LSM) sector.
During the first eight months of the current fiscal year, the LSM sector reached 6.13% growth, which is the highest level in the last 11 years.
Overall, the industrial sector showed a growth rate of 5.8%, which is also the highest in the last 10 years. π
π Large-Scale Manufacturing Performance
In the first quarter of FY 2018, Large-Scale Manufacturing recorded strong growth of 9.9%, compared to only 1.9% in the same period last year. This shows a major improvement in industrial performance.

π Importance of the Textile Industry
Pakistan is the 4th largest cotton producer in the world, which gives the country a natural advantage in textile production. There is also big potential to increase cotton output even more.
