Society of Pakistan β Overview
π΅π° Society of Pakistan
π Overview
Pakistan came into existence in 1947 after a long struggle by the Muslims of South Asia to secure a homeland. The majority of the population is Muslim, with minorities belonging to different faiths πβοΈποΈ. Although religion is the main binding force in Pakistani society, the country remains ethnically diverse, as it has historically been a crossroads for various civilizations and invaders.
This interaction gave birth to Urdu, a beautiful blend of local and foreign linguistic influences π£οΈβ¨.
Pakistan is still largely rural, but rapid urbanization ποΈ is transforming social structures. Despite economic growth, wealth distribution remains uneven π°, with nearly one-third of the population living in poverty.
A male-dominated (patriarchal) system π¨βπ¦±β‘οΈπ¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ still shapes much of society, and social development has not kept pace with economic change β although a growing middle class is slowly emerging.
