Introduction to the Ideology of Pakistan
1. 📖 Definition and Explanation
🔹 Meaning of the Term “Ideology”
The word ideology means “a set of ideas and aims that guide a person’s or a nation’s goals, expectations, and actions.”
It was first used in French as idéologie during the French Revolution, introduced by the philosopher de Tracy as a short term for the “science of ideas” — the study of how ideas start, grow, and develop.
📝 In simple words:
➡️ Ideology is a set of beliefs that a nation wants to follow to stay united and strong.
It usually grows among groups that are not satisfied with the current system and want change.
🌙 Ideology of Pakistan
The ideology of Pakistan came from the desire of the Muslims of South Asia to protect their separate identity.
They resisted attempts by Hindu society to merge or dominate them.
Muslims believed that:
-
🕌 Islam and 🕉️ Hinduism are not just different religions —
they are two different social systems. -
These systems created two different cultures, which had very little in common.
📌 History proves the differences were not only political, but also social and cultural.
Even after living together for over 1,000 years, Muslims and Hindus developed:
-
different eating habits 🍲
-
different music 🎶
-
different architecture 🏛️
-
different languages 📝
-
different clothing styles 👕
Muslims did not consider themselves a nation because of:
-
territory 🌍
-
race 👥
-
language 💬
-
ethnicity 🌏
➡️ They were a nation because they shared the same faith — Islam.
Therefore, Muslims demanded that areas where they were in majority should form a separate state where they could live according to the Quran and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
